Exterior outdated vinyl siding required removal. We removed the siding, replaced the unstable exterior base sheathing, installed water barrier paper (Tyvek), installed a paperbacked wire lath, and applied new stucco cement and texture.

Exterior sheathing on a home should follow local code. Rotting and compromised wood should be replaced. Not replacing exterior sheathing as needed will lead to stucco issues like lifting and cracking and other structural problems. The exterior sheathing of a home is the base for a successful stucco repair or installation. Making sure the exterior sheathing is in a healthy condition is a priority of our team.
In most cases, stucco can be applied directly onto a concrete solid surface. In other instances, a water barrier will need to be used (Tyvek). The water barrier Tyvek and others similar will help the sheathing and structure remain durable against external conditions. Nailing patterns for the water barrier will be determined by code.
After a water barrier is installed (Tyvek), Paper lath wire (or other laths for various exteriors) should be installed to create a surface suitable for stucco. Installing the lath will support the stucco and help our team in creating an even surface. Creating an even surface and accurate depth in our application will help against cracking and lifting. The nailing (or screwing) pattern will be determined by code.
